Media Kit & Subscriber Survey
HOW TO MARKET TO THE
CATTLEMAN MAGAZINE READERS:
One of the most frequently asked questions here at The Cattleman
is, do you sell your mailing list? And the answer is always no;
our mailing list is protected by the by-laws of the Texas &
Southwestern Cattle Raisers Association. We think it’s great
that we get calls like this, because it tells you like our
market well enough to do research to find out who we are and it
gives us an open door to say, the only way you can reach our
readers is to advertise in The Cattleman magazine!
Every year The Cattleman
invests in a readership survey that is conducted by Grotta
Research Marketing. You’ll find the results in these next few
pages. We use this survey in several ways. Editorially it tells
us the main areas that we need to focus on and subtle changes
taking place within our readership. Secondly, these numbers give
us the validity we need to sell in a shrinking market place for
advertising dollars, both for commercial and livestock business.
One of the questions that we like to ask the most is, have you
made purchases from advertisements you’ve seen in The Cattleman?
And this year’s number is very similar to that of years past,
with 63% of our readers saying yes! That 63% should be very
reassuring when you consider advertising in The Cattleman, with
the uncertain atmosphere in today’s market place.
Advertisers should capture as
much of this Texas and Southwest market as they can due to the
volume of cattle in our region. Exposure of your company or
cattle operation is the best way to get your message across and
in the hands of our readers. For the most part our readers buy
the “necessities” and they know to look for quality to help get
them where they are going. This cross section of goods and
services is quite broad, taking in seedstock producers, horses,
custom cattle feeding operations, animal health, feed, seed,
fencing, pickups, tractors, haying equipment, auctions,
auctioneers, implements, software, realtors . . . in other words
– core products.
Take a look at our numbers,
editorial calendar and rates and if you still have questions
about the beef market we represent call us; we welcome any
questions you may have. |
