Comment period extended for M-44 and compound 1080

Federal officials have extended the comment period to March 5, 2008, for those interested in commenting on the petition to cancel all uses of M-44 (sodium cyanide capsules) and compound 1080 (sodium fluoroacetate). These products are most often used in predator collars for controlling coyotes.

The original comment period expired Jan. 15; however, the new deadline is now March 5.

To provide your comments by email:

1. Go to http://www.regulations.gov and paste into the SEARCH box the docket identification (ID) number: EPA-HQ-OPP-2007-0944-0010

2. When the new page appears, you will see the title "Petition Requesting EPA to Issue a Notice.........."

3. Directly under this title is a line "Send a Comment or Suggestion."  Click on this line, which will open a form for you to convey you comments.

4. You may also read comments that others have made on this subject by clicking on "View this Document"

Comments may also be mailed, but must arrive prior to March. 15, 2008. Please remember to include the docket identification number. Mail to:
