If you
have a problem with feral hogs, how do you deal with it?

"We ranch close to the
Trinity River and have a lot of problems with hogs. They
damage our hayfields, equipment, pastures and pose a
threat to people. We have tried traps from the Extension
service, which have worked the first two or three times.
But, the hogs are smart and they eventually figured it
out and avoided the traps. My dad and I would prefer not
to have hunters on the property. I would welcome some new
ideas."

"Trap and paid hunters to
harvest."

"A potential problem was
transformed into a profit using a little ingenuity. With
the price of live wild hogs being strong, we built a trap
out of scrap material. We bait it with spoiled grain and
I give the sale money to my wife. Now she's checking and
baiting the trap and I'm saving money. Just this week,
she saw a 'new sofa, complete with pillows' heading
across the pasture."

"We are having problems
with hogs, but we do not have a solution for it
now."
