Stocker Cattle (2012) 12-part series on stocker cattle management. This series was created in partnership with Chris McClure, Gold Standard Labs (bvd-pi.com), a lab services company, based in Hereford, that specializes in BVD-PI testing and blood pregnancy tests; and Danna Schwenk and Karla Whitmore, CattleXpert Management Software (cattlexpert.com), a software company, based in Elkhorn, Neb., that specializes in feedlot and stocker management applications.
Controlled Burn (2011)A bi-monthly 6-part series on prescribed burning, which is also referred to as controlled burning. To help facilitate informed discussions and sound decision-making, this series will provide an introduction to the topic and then explore: the effect of a controlled burn on the environment; equipment of a controlled burn; public relations of a controlled burn; managing smoke during a controlled burn; and safety practices of a controlled burn.
Planned Grazing (2010) A seven-part installment in a 12-part series on planned grazing. This series was been created in partnership with Dr. Richard Teague, associate resident director and professor at the Texas AgriLife Research and Extension Center in Vernon; Dr. C. Wayne Hanselka, a private range management consultant based in Corpus Christi, who also serves as professor and Extension specialist emeritus with the Texas AgriLife Extension Service; and individual ranchers experienced in using planned grazing.
